Press release on SA lockdown

Dear fellow South Africans and international visitors.

We at South of Africa acknowledge that as a result of the nationwide lockdown commencing this Thursday at midnight, all reservations during this period can not be honoured while our hotels remain closed. Your wellbeing is important to us and we will gladly welcome you back at a later date. We will be contacting our guests via e-mail in the coming days, offer guests the option to move their bookings to a different date or receive a credit note to use before 28 February 2021 should a new date not be known.

Our offices and hotels will be closed officially from Friday and we will have limited hours Monday – Saturday from 8am to 10am to respond to your e-mails. Guests who have booked for the next 7 days will be contacted first. Because of the high volumes of reservations that need to be reached, please e-mail us with your booking details should you not receive a response from us before your original check in date by e-mailing mybooking@soa.travel.

We wish everybody’s safety during this time and will be monitoring the situation closely. It is our aim to reopen on 20 April 2020. Guests are welcome in the meantime to make new bookings for a later date with no deposit required and free cancellation until 2pm the day prior to arrival. T&Cs apply.

We look forward to a renewed and healthy South Africa and to welcome you back with open arms to our collection in the near future.
Stef Venter, Managing Director
