Shangri-La reveals new Amazon Room

Synonymous with grandeur and a taste for the eclectic, Shangri-La Country Hotel & Spa, just outside Bela Bela and Modimolle on the Eersbewoon Road, recently announced the renovation of two conference venues, namely the Boardroom and the Indaba venue. While the latter is currently still under construction (with a new roof underway), the Boardroom’s revamp has been completed and opened on 30 October 2023 as the new rebranded Amazon Room.

This spacious conference venue boasts a whole range of new highlights. All doors and windows have been replaced with steel framed alternatives, that elevates the previously cosy venue to a more mature and corporate space ideal for any event. The charcoal walls and book cases have been replaced with deep forest green walls, and a feature of six colourful prints of macaws that stand 2.4m high in the place of the old bookshelves. Another prominent feature is the majestic 4.8m wide art piece that is a focal point for the venue upon entering this space.

Rounding off the new look is a golden ceiling, mirroring that of another venue at Shangri-La, namely Barry’s Bar. Brand new furniture takes this space to another level with comfortable seating with yellow-gold velvet fabric, and bright white tables that adds to the modern look of the space. Set up as a 50-seater with the eye-catching velvet seating, or a 90-seater venue with alternate seating arrangements, the new Amazon Room is set to become the sought-after venue in the Waterberg.
