Shangri-La Country Hotel outside Bela Bela and Modimolle will soon be growing their own vegetables, herbs and more! The square foot vegetable garden has been prepared with love by Magogo (Mrs Anndeline Jansen van Vuuren) and her team of gardeners.
This fantastic initiative will not only benefit our guests by getting the freshest vegetables straight from our gardens, but also benefit the environment. “The new vegetable garden forms part of our going green programme,” says General Manager Ken Strydom. “We’re thrilled by this superb new addition to Shangri-La and we can’t wait to serve our guests with food grown in our own backyard!”
A beaming Mrs Jansen van Vuuren announced that she has been wanting to have this vegetable and herb garden at Shangri-La all along, and the time has come to do so. Her green fingers have been one of the key reasons behind the success of Shangri-La’s fabulous gardens, and this new venture is clearly set for success.
